Terms of use

These terms cover WritingBricks, operated by The Founder Upgrade L.L.C-FZ, a company registered in the United Arab Emirates. Contact piernicola@thefounderupgrade.com with questions. By using the service, you agree to these terms.

Free access and your account

WritingBricks is currently free to use. A local Mac workflow does not require an account. Optional online projects require an account. Creating an account or using the service does not authorize a future payment. Any future paid offer would require separate information and your agreement before you are charged.

Provide an email address you control, use a strong password and keep your recovery key safe. You are responsible for activity under your account and for choosing what you upload. We do not currently verify account email addresses. A forgotten password is recovered with your recovery key, not by email. Support cannot promise to restore access without it.

Your writing belongs to you

You retain copyright and other rights in your writing. You give us only the permission needed to store, transmit and process content you choose to save online so that the service can work for you. This does not transfer ownership of your writing. WritingBricks does not run your text through an AI training pipeline.

Upload only material you have the right to use. Do not use the service to break the law, infringe others' rights, distribute malicious software, abuse infrastructure or try to access another person's account.

Keep copies you control

You are responsible for maintaining independent copies of important work. Local folders, browser drafts, optional online projects and Dropbox are different storage locations. Signing in does not upload local files. Browser drafts may be lost if site data is cleared or the browser profile is removed. Export work before changing storage, deleting an account or troubleshooting a device.

Sync, export, updates and recovery can fail or be interrupted. Review exported documents and resolve file conflicts before relying on a copy as final. Third-party services such as Dropbox are governed by their own terms.

Availability and changes

We provide the app and service as available, with no promise of uninterrupted access, permanent free hosting, compatibility with every environment or recovery of every lost file. We may maintain, change or discontinue features. Where reasonably practicable, we will provide notice of material changes affecting access to online writing so that you can export it.

We may restrict accounts that abuse the service, create a security risk or violate these terms. You can stop using the service and delete your account. Deletion removes online content from the active service, subject to the recovery and retention details in our privacy policy.

Responsibility and applicable rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided without warranties, and we are not responsible for indirect losses, lost profits or loss resulting from your failure to keep independent copies. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the United Arab Emirates, subject to any mandatory protections and jurisdiction rights that apply to you as a consumer in your place of residence. Contact us first if a problem arises so we can try to resolve it.

Updates to these terms

Material changes will be posted on this page with a new date. If a change requires separate consent under applicable law, we will request it.
